AAP leader Sanjay Singh-Things you should know

Sanjay Singh, the senior leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and a member of the Rajya Sabha since 2018 is right now in news for his suspension from the Upper House i.e. Rajya Sabha during the Monsoon Session. He is the national spokesperson for the AAP and the state-in-charge for Uttar Pradesh, Odisha and Rajasthan. Singh has been a member of the party since its inception in November 2012 and is a member of the party's foremost decision-making body, the Political Affairs Committee (PAC).

Singh was born on March 22, 1972 in Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh. He has a diploma in Mining Engineering from Orissa School of Mining Engineering in Keonjhar. After completing his studies, Singh worked as a social activist for several years before entering politics. He was involved in campaigns for the rights of street vendors and the cleaning of the Gomti river.

Singh joined the AAP in 2012 and was soon appointed as the party's national spokesperson. He played a key role in the party's victory in the 2013 Delhi Assembly elections. Singh was also the AAP's candidate for the post of Chief Minister of Delhi in the 2015 Assembly elections.

In 2018, Singh was elected to the Rajya Sabha from Delhi. He is a member of the Standing Committee on Urban Development and the Consultative Committee on the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. Sanjay Singh: Facts in brief 

A founder member of the party, Sanjay Singh is a member of the Political Affairs Committee & National Executive of the Aam Aadmi Party. He also is also a National Spokesperson and is currently handling responsibilities as in-charge of political affairs of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
