It was another glorious year for the The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) which has been adjudged as the best marching contingent among paramilitary and other auxiliary forces marched at Republic Day Parade 2018 at Rajpath.
Smt Nirmala Sitharaman, Defence Minister presented the prestigious trophy to Shri R K Pachnanda, Director General ITBP and Assistant Commandant Shri Akshay Deshmukh, the parade commander of the ITBP contingent in an official function.
148 member contingent represented the ITBP which has participated in the parade after two year’s gap. The Contingent represented all formations of the Force comprising members from almost all Units of the Force.
It is noted that ITBP has won the best contingent trophy in the category for the record 6th time.
The Force had been adjudged with the best contingent in the years 1998, 1999, 2000, 2004 and 2011.
