The Delhi Cabinet in its meeting chaired by the Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal approved the following important decisions. The cabinet granted its approval to the Phase-IV project of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).

 The decision was announced by the Deputy Chief Minister, Shri Manish Sisodia and the Transport Minister, Shri Kailash Gahlot.

According to the cabinet decision, the Phase –IV project consists of following six corridors with the total length of 103.93 kilometres:

  • Rithala-Bawana-Narela total kms 21.73 (elevated 21.73 kms)
  • Janakpuri West-RK Ashram total 28.92 kms (elevated 21.18 kms)
  • Mukundpur-Maujpur total 12.54 kms – all elevated.
  • Inderlok-Indraprastha total 12.58 kms (all underground)
  • Aero City-Tuglakabad total 20.2 kms (elevated 5.58 kms)
  • Lajpat Nagar – Saket G Block total 7.96 kms (elevated 5.89 kms)
There will be a total of 79 Stations in this phase.
The total contribution of the Delhi government works out to Rs 9707.50 Crore.
The Phase-IV project commencing date is 1st January 2019 and the DMRC plans to execute all the six corridors simultaneously. The project completion date is estimated as 3st December 2024 for the all six corridors.

After the completion of Phase-IV the total length of the Delhi MRTS in Delhi/NCR would be approximately 453.58 kilometers.
