In a historic move, Gujarat has become the first state to implement the 10 per cent reservation for general category poor candidates.
Certainly the move is very crucial as the initiative taken by Modi government in Center recently.
According to sources, the 10 per cent quota for the economically weaker class from the general category will be over and above the existing 49 per cent quota for SC, ST and OBC.
It is to be noted that recently Parliament approves Constitution 124th (Amendment) Bill, in a bid to give 10 per cent reservation in government jobs and educational institutions to economically backward people among general category.
