World Tuberculosis Day 2022: It is to be noted that the World Tuberculosis Day is being celebrated on 24th March. World Tuberculosis Day is being celebrated as 24 March to raise public awareness about the devastating health, social and economic consequences of TB, and to step up efforts to end the global TB epidemic.The day has its own importance in the world of Medicine and treatment treatment of Tuberculosis. On the day in the year 1882, noted scientist and researcher Dr. Robert Koch announced the discovery of the bacteria that causes TB. Needless to say, the historical discovery for the treatment of Tuberculosis allows way for diagnosis and cure of this deadly disease. 

Tuberculosis (TB), which is an infectious disease which  generally affects the lungs. However it can also affects other parts of the body and usually TB caused by bacteria named Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB). 

In a bid to raise awareness among the people towards the menace of Tuberculosis, World Health Organisation (WHO) commemorate World Tuberculosis (TB) Day on March 24 

It it to be noted that the date marks the day in 1882 when Dr Robert Koch announced that he had discovered the bacterium that causes TB, which opened the way towards diagnosing and curing this disease.
 According to the experts, most infections in the case of TB, do not have symptoms appeared and it remain difficult to diagnose initially. Expert termed it as latent tuberculosis. TB is Infectious disease and it is essential to take precautions for the same.

Experts said that there are two kinds of tuberculosis infection. Generally tuberculosis infection symptoms appears in two ways like latent and active...Latent TB  and Active TB

Latent TB: In such kind of TB, the bacteria remain in the body in an inactive state and it is not detected initially as expert says. These bacteria remains in the body without any symptoms and are not contagious, but they can become active in some circumstances.

Active TB: In such kind of TB, the bacteria displayed its symptoms and it appears on the body with certain characteristics. Expert said that it can be transmitted to others.

According to reports, about one-third of the world's population is believed to have latent TB and there is only less chance of latent TB becoming active.
