The steps taken by former Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru for the all-round development of the country with foresight and fortitude were now bearing fruits as whatever developments that have been witnessed in the country were the results of Nehruji’s vision.
Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) president Smt. Sheila Dikshit expressed her view when Delhi Congress observed the 55th death anniversary of Pandit Nehru in a function organised in Delhi.
Function was held at the DPCC office in Delhi to observe the 55th death anniversary of Pandit Nehru. Congress leaders and workers paid floral tributes to Pandit Nehru’s portrait. Smt. Sheila Dikshit said that it was Nehru’s great vision and planning that helped India overcome the teething troubles following the hard won freedom struggle and move towards development, progress, prosperity and self-reliance.
DPCC president Smt. Sheila Dikshit said that the Congress party not only won freedom for the country, but also put the country on the road to development and progress after independence by taking many landmark decisions to tackle poverty, housing, universal education, industrial development and friendly relations with foreign countries which also helped the country benefit in myriad ways for its developments.
Smt. Sheila Dikshit said that people should take inspiration from the life of Pt. Nehru to take the country to greater heights and progress with discipline, dedication and commitment, which were the hallmark of Pandijit’s life and work.
