India Couture Week 2019: Model Displaying Creations by Gaurav Gupta
Gaurav Gupta's Creations were attend much appreciation at the ongoing India Couture Week 2019. Stripping down the ornate art adorning the walls of Versailles, Gaurav imagines a bride waltzing in the prismatic corridors of the Hall of Mirrors, with a diaphanous veil over her head, while she re-visits the pious lanes of Lucknow, reminiscent of her glorious childhood. She beams with joy, looking like an ethereal goddess wearing pure, handcrafted, textured chikankari embellished with the gilded opulence of zardosi.
Needless to say, Gaurav Gupta is one of the most celebrated and progressive couturiers in India and a global name on the rise. A graduate of Central Saint Martin’s College of Art and Design, Gaurav has carved a world that is future primitive, reflected through sculpture-like garments with a sense of infinity and rhythm.
