Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal met with the family of Corona warrior Late Mr. Arun Kumar and offered them a cheque of Rs. 1 crore as financial assistance. He also said that the Delhi government will do whatever it can to support the education of Mr. Arun's children.
Late Mr. Arun Kumar contacted Corona in the course of his duty, while he was working as a Civil Defense Volunteer and providing food to people during the lockdown. CM Arvind Kejriwal said that the people of Delhi salute the martyrdom and bravery of Mr. Arun.
CM Arvind Kejriwal said, "Arun Kumar Ji did an excellent job during the whole Corona lockdown period. He worked in almost all the departments, whether in hospitals, distributing food, or anything else. Our Civil Defense Volunteers have worked hard day and night and 24x7. Arun Ji was one such Civil Defense Volunteer who, in the course of his duty, contacted Corona and unfortunately lost his life because of it. The people of Delhi salute the martyrdom and sacrifice of Arun Kumar Ji."
"Without caring for his own life, he did not lag in serving his duty and kept helping people. I met with his family, his father, his wife, and his children. His daughter is in 12th class and his son is in 9th class, their education should not stop at any cost. The Delhi government will do whatever it can to support their education. The Delhi government has provided financial assistance of Rs 1 crore to his family, which will provide relief to his family. We are very proud of what Arun Kumar Ji has done for the people of Delhi," added the CM.
Arun Kumar was a resident of Rajpuri in Uttam Nagar area of Delhi. He was on duty in Dwarka. He contacted Corona in the course of his duty as a Civil Defense Volunteer and succumbed to Corona a few days ago while undergoing treatment.
