Vivekanand College Delhi Celebrates Golden Jubilee: Facts in Brief about its journey
Vivekanand College in East Delhi Celebrated its golden jubilee year which is well positioned to build on the excellent foundation of the last 50 years to build a world class institution. The college was established in 1970 and is one of the most sought after colleges in the Trans-Yamuna area for women education

Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia attended the Annual Day celebrations of Vivekanand College in East Delhi in its golden jubilee year through video conferencing. While congratulating the staff for the completion of 50 years, he said, “It was a brave effort to start a women’s only college 50 years ago in this area and successfully running it for such a long duration.” The college was established in 1970 and is one of the most sought after colleges in the Trans-Yamuna area for women education.

Deputy Chief Minister said, “Providing quality education to all is our government’s dream. This goal is not just limited to our generation but for future generations as well.” He further added, “In this second term as education minister, my main agenda will be to focus on the Higher, Technical and Skill Education.”

Dy CM Sisodia said, “I congratulate all the staff members, students, and parents who were a part of this journey. Vivekananda College under the able leadership of principal Dr Hina Nandrajog is well positioned to build on the excellent foundation of the last 50 years to build a world class institution.  In the future, when the college will be celebrating its 100 year anniversary, the second fifty years that took shape under this team’s vision should be considered as significant as the first 50 years.”

During the event, the principal of the college Dr. Hina Nandrajog gave a presentation to the Deputy CM, highlighting the achievements of the institution. The program schedule included a few cultural activities virtually presented by the students and teachers. At present, this college caters to around 2265 students in varied courses like BA (Hons.), B. Sc. (Hons.) among many others.
