In the entire history of the T20 World Cup, West Indies is the only team to win two ICC Men's T20 World Cups. Needless to say, West Indies won their first ICC Men's T20 World Cup in 2012 and it repeated its second title in 2016.
2007– South Africa
India won the ICC Men's T20 World Cup in 2007 Needless to say, the 2007 ICC World Twenty 20 was the inaugural Twenty 20 International cricket world championship. India won the world cup and thus become the winner of title of ICC Men's T20 World Cup. It was South Africa which hosted the first CC Men's T20 World Cup from 11 to 24 September 2007.
2009 – England
Pakistan won the second edition of ICC Men's T20 World Cup in 2009 by defeating Sri Lanka. However initially Pakistan began the tournament poorly but it comeback in the tournament and defeated the Sri Lanka to clinck the trophy.
2010 – West Indies
It was the third edition of the T20 World Cup which was played in West Indies. The trophy was won by England which was their first ICC Men's trophy.
2012 – Sri Lanka
It was the 4th Edition of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup played in Sri Lanka. West Indies won their first ICC Men's T20 World Cup. It was West Indies’ first ICC title and Samuels was named Player of the Final. Australian Shane Watson was adjudged Player of the Series in the tournament.
2014 – Bangladesh
The trophy was played in Bangladesn and it was a good news for Asia that it returned here or a second consecutive time. It was first time when the tournament featured 16 teams. Sri Lanka won the 2014 ICC Men's T20 World Cup under Lasith Malinga's captaincy.
