Delhi State BJP has held a Jan Chaupal at Patpadganj the assembly constituency of Dy. CM Manish Sisodia to expose the corruption of Delhi Government. At the Jan Chaupal thousands of people raised their hands in support as Shri Adesh Gupta levelled allegations of corruption of over Rs. 10000 crores in Liquor Policy scam and misappropriation of funds to the tune of Rs. 1.50 lacs crores in various departments of Delhi Government.
Delhi BJP President Shri Adesh Gupta said its shocking to see that Arvind Kejriwal came to power promising to fight corruption but today his own government is inaundated in corruption scams. Kejriwal promised that he will not let a single tainted MLA to sit in the assembly but today two tainted Ministers Manish Sisodia & Satyendra Jain are a part of his cabinet.
Shri Gupta said people of Delhi especially citizens of Patpadganj are ashamed to see that a person whom they thrice elected as MLA is today a accused of a Liquor Scam of Rs. 10000 crores and worked to promote liquor sales amongst youth.
Delhi BJP President said that in 2021 Kejriwal Government formed a committee under its then Excise Commissioner Ravi Dhawan seeking suggestions for new liquor policy. The committee recommended that government should keep wholesale liquor trade in its own hands and liquor manufacturers should not be allowed to open retail liquor shops but Kejriwal and Sisodia refused to follow the recommendations and did just the opposite. Sisodia not only handed over wholesale liquor trade to private operators but increased their commission from 2% to 12%, those in this business openly allege that lot of cash exchanged hands between dealers to government.
They allowed several liquor manufacturers to open their bogus firms to open retail shops across the city. They gave license to several black listed companies too.
Be it the benefit of Rs. 144 crores allowed to liquor traders in the name of covid patch, refund of Rs. 30 crores to airport's liquor dealer or rebate of Rs. 50 per carton allowed on imported beer, they all indicate towards corruption in government policy implementation.
