National Youth Day History
National Youth Day is celebrated to commemorate the birthday of famous philosopher, activist, social reformer and the great thinker Swami Vivekananda. He was born on 12th January 1863 in Kolkata. Being a great thinker with his igniting view, he was the follower of Ramakrishna and he founded the Ramakrishna Mission in 1897.
The day is observed especially to focus on cultural celebration and certain aspects about the youth. The day is observed with covering of many other programmes with a variety of activities nationwide exposure to the youth for the expression and fulfilment of their cultural talents and aspirations.
The great scholar and philosopher of Vivekanand is known for his igniting thoughts who has focused mainly on how to control our mind to achieve the goals of life.
According to Vivekanand, Brahmacharya is the crucial factor for youth and it should be focused by youth for their personality development as it is the source of stamina, and mental well-being.
