Chaitra Navratri 2024 Date: Chaitra Navratri, a significant Hindu festival which is to be commence from April 09, 2024. The Chaitra Navratri begins with the Pratipada date of Shukla Paksha in the Chaitra month, according to hindi month, which generally falls in the month of March/April in english caldndar. It is the auscipisious occassion which is also the indication of commencement of Hindu New Year according the hindi punchang.  
Chaitra Navratri is starting from late night of 8th April this year i.e. the first puja will start from 09th April 2024. Chaitra is the auspicious occasion of Navratri when Goddess Durga and her nine forms are worshiped which are usually worshiped during Navratri. The important nine manifestation of goddesses Durgaa is knonw as Shailputri or Pratipada, Brahmacharini, Chandraghanta, Kushmanda, Skandamata, Katyayani, Kalaratri, Mahagauri, Siddhidatri. According to the Hindu calendar, this year Goddess Durga is coming during Navratri riding on a horse which is not considered auspicious but this year the mother's farewell will be on a male vehicle which is considered auspicious.

According to the Hindu calendar, it is celebrated during the Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month. According to the Gregorian calendar, Chaitra Navratri generally falls in March or April every year.

According to Chaitra Navratri 2024, the nine forms of Goddess Durga are described as follows:

Shailputri:

The first form is Shailputri, who is called the daughter of Shail (mountain). In this form the mother's focus is on purity and sacrifice. She holds a Kamandalu and Lota. Goddess Shail Putri is one of the nine forms of Goddess Durga who is known as Goddess Parvati, the wife of Lord Shiva. Shailputri is considered to be the daughter of mountain king Himalaya, who is mentioned in the Puranas. It is said that Shaiputri is the first among all the nine forms of Goddess Durga. As mentioned in Hindu mythology, Shailputri is considered to be the reincarnation of Sati and was the daughter of Daksha Shailputri.

Brahmacharini:

In the second form, Mother is Brahmacharini, who does penance, meditates, and waits for the welfare of the children. The name of Brahmacharini Devi is one of the nine forms of Navadurga Mata. In this form, Maa Durga is shown doing penance, meditating, and waiting for the welfare of her children.

The form of Brahmacharini is a symbol of perfect meditation, penance, and restraint. Brahmacharini has a rosary and kamandalu in her hands. Mala symbolizes meditation and contemplation, while Kamandalu symbolizes penance and celibacy. She usually wears white clothes which shows her purity and chastity.

Chandraghanta:

The third form is Mother Chandraghanta, who establishes the shape of the moon. She sits on a special seat in the form of the moon. They are illuminated by the moon and have a giant moon image on their face.

The sight of Chandraghanta Maa's face is peaceful, but her form is fierce and noble. She holds a veena in her two hands and wears a moon-shaped Chandrakoti on her face. Mother Kushmanda has four hands, in which she holds a stick in one hand and Kamandalu in the other. She holds a prong and a bladed knife, symbols of her origin. Kushmanda Maa's vehicle is a lion, which represents her strength and courage. Skandamata:

Katyayani:

The sixth form is Mother Katyayani, who worships Uttar Kumar for the killing of Mahishasura. The form of Goddess Katyayani is very noble and generous. Katyayani Devi has four hands, in which one hand holds a standing trident and the other hand holds a veena. He features two hands and a posture that represents his power. Kalratri:
