Group Personal Accident Insurance Policy for Public Transport Vehicle Drivers

New Delhi: Delhi Transport Minister Ramakant Goswami chaired a high-level meeting at Delhi sectt. attended by Transport Department officers , officer from Indraprastha Gas Limited and Union of transporters of Delhi. After the meeting Transport Minister Said that Group Personal Accident Insurance Policy for Public Transport Vehicle Drivers would be steer by Indraprastha Gas Limited . He Said that the drivers are the backbone of public transport in the unorganized sector operating in Delhi. This strata generally comprises poor and underprivileged sections of the society and the drivers are generally the sole bread winners for their families.

Transport Minister Futher said that Social security is one of the main issues in the present Government’s vision towards inclusive growth and the scheme for providing the insurance cover. drivers of public transport would help meet this need to some extent for a very large segment of the population. This scheme is expected to benefit the families of approximately 2.50 lakh drivers of CNG run public transport vehicles. Rs.1.5 lakh in case of death of a driver while driving the Public Transport vehicles to the nominees.

An additional amount of Rs.25,000 towards Children’s Education Allowance per child subject to a maximum of Rs.50,000 (Two children). In case of an accident requiring treatment for injury/fracture a maximum sum of Rs.10000. In case of permanent disability that leads to loss of employment, then a lump sum equal to 100% is payable to such insured person. Rs.1500 to Rs.75000 graded compensation for partial disability.

He said that all drivers driving public transport vehicle having endorsement of CNG mode of registration certificate are in policy coverage meeting with an accident while driving such vehicle. The public transport vehicle should be registered in the RTO of Delhi and Driver of Public transport vehicle must have a valid license to drive such vehicle are under Policy coverage.

Kiran Bedi witnessed the special screening of the film 'Calapor'

New Delhi: Kiran Bedi attended the special screening of the film “Calapor” before its release at film Division auditorium, New Delhi. On the occasion of special screening beautiful Bengali actress Rituparna Sengupta , Producer, A. Durga Prasad and Director, Dinesh P. Bhosle were also present.

This was the special screening, especially organised for some close friends and Kiran Bedi as the film is based on prisoners. In interview when someone asked the director, Dinesh P. Bhosle that why they have organised the special screening in Delhi, So, He answered, “This film is based on the prisoners, and cultural activities in prison as I always wanted to make a film on such issue and this is why I first showed it Kiran Bedi as she is the one who initiated such activities and seen the life of prisoners very closely.”

Kiran Bedi added, “There should be a separate jail for all the corrupt politicians but unfortunately they will escape it easily. After 50 years a film like “calapor” is made which depicts the story of people behind the bars after an old black & white film “do aankhein baarrah hath”, I personally liked the film, is only because of the superb story which slowly unfolds many layers of truth but at right time and ends with a social message. The strong point of the film is its Story and the film is directed very nicely.”

Versatile Bengali Actress Rituparna Sengupta was looking very beautiful and is playing lead in the film opposite to Priyanshu Chatterjee.

“Calapor” is a modern story of reformation. The Film provokes thoughts about the nature of human being while infusing hope that there is good in every human being.

Zanjeer will have Telugu Superstar Ram Charan making his much anticipated high octane Bollywood debut with the gorgeous Priyanka Chopra opposite him. Tech Mahindra joins hands with EDMC for Teacher Education Institute

New Delhi:East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) and Tech Mahindra Foundation (TMF) jointly inaugurated the In-Service Teacher Education Institute (ITEI) at the EDMC Primary School, A Block, Dilshad Garden in New Delhi. The partnership project was flagged off by Ram Narayan Dubey (Mayor, East Delhi) in presence of Harsh Malhotra (Chairman, Education Committee), PreetiBehan (Municipal Councillor) and VariamKaur (Leader of Opposition). Loveleen Kacker (Chief Executive Officer, TMF) facilitated the launch with the Foundation team.

The official inauguration of the project was followed by a workshop on ‘Developing proficiency in teaching English’, which was attended by 28 primary school from East Delhi’s Shahdara region. The 3-day workshop will address important aspects of transacting English language to children in primary schools, most of who are first generation learners and come with diverse linguistic, cultural and social backgrounds. EDMC has 113 English medium schools, which face the challenge of delivering good quality language learning to the students.

Malhotra said “We are extremely glad to have Tech Mahindra Foundation come forward to shoulder responsibility with us. With the new ITEI, it would be possible to run a quality teacher training programme, which will have experts from different parts of the country share best practices of teaching through like videoconferencing, a dedicated helpline and extensive use of ICT.”

Explaining the importance of English for a better future, Kacker said, “The widespread reach and scale of the government combined with sophisticated technology, high quality research and pedagogical inputs of the Foundation will lead to the establishment of a state of the art teacher education institute, which will empower the teachers to reach out to the most underprivileged children, many of who attend EDMC-run primary schools.”

The ITEI is one of the two long term projects that EDMC and TMF are running jointly in the school. Under the second project, All Round Improvement in School Education (ARISE), TMF has adopted the school for five years for an overall turnaround including the important aspects of enhancing school environment, improving school management, conducting teacher training and working on pedagogy to improve learning levels of children. TMF is running 8 projects under ARISE in New Delhi and Mumbai.

NDMC increases yearly encouragement amount for girl from 200 to 500

New Delhi: North Delhi Municipal Corporation’s Standing Committee today unanimously passed a proposal to increase yearly encouragement amount to approximately 1.85 lakh girl students studying in about 765 primary schools of the Corporation from Rs. 200 to Rs 500 each student. For this purpose, a sum of Rs. 9 crore has been earmarked.

Leader of the House in North Delhi Municipal Corporation and member of the Standing Committee, Mr. Mahinder Nagpal said children studying in Corporation schools come from economically weaker background. Besides, he added that the number of drop out students from schools is mostly girls.

“Considering the economic background of these students, the Corporation has unanimously taken a decision to increase the amount given to girl students as encourage amount so that they are encouraged to continue their studies,” said Mr. Nagpal.
