Mumbai: It was the golden collection by Megha Garg which enchanted the audiences. Putting an emphasis on colour and drapes, Megha Garg presented an ethereal feminine collection called 'The Warrior Soul' at Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2014.<br />
The USP of the designer was the special technique of pocketing and quilting sequins between fabrics, which took nearly two years to develop and was the focal point of the collection. <br />
Paying tribute to the strength of the Indian woman, Megha displayed gorgeous gowns and dresses with intricate draped panels and structured patterns that resembled an armour. To create the feminine folds, the designer opted for raw edged organza hems, which were delicately attached to knit dresses.<br />

The quilted sequins effect appeared as checked hologram, armour, honeycomb yokes or shell effects for dresses and gowns. Fabrics that gave life to the collection were flat chiffon, organza, net, heavy weight jersey and satin. <br />

Rigid attitude of officers in Delhi: BJP delegation meets Home Minister

<p>New Delhi: A high level delegation under the leadership BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Satish Upadhyay met Central Home Minister Shri Rajnath Singh today. </p>

<p>The delegation apprised the Home Minister about the rigid attitude of officers working in the departments of Delhi Government connected with public services and said that on the one hand the people have to bear with the indifferent attitude of the officers posted in Food and Civil Supplies, Health, Education, Social Service Departments and on the other hand we see irregularities in the working of departments like Transport. </p>

<p>Due to this the people of Delhi are facing great difficulties in getting ration cards, social pensions, hospital services etc. The issue of Guest Teachers in Education Department is a great hindrance in starting teaching in the new academic session. The basic reason of all these problems is the evasive attitude and indecision of the principal offices of the departments.</p>

<p>The delegation attracted the attention of the Home Minister towards the anti people activities of the lower level officers of Delhi Police and said that in place of preventing crime against the people, the SHO and lower level offices take more interest in inspecting building construction. The interference of the police in developing colonies or commercial areas has crossed all the limits. </p>

<p>In public interest the delegation has demanded the Home Minister that there is an urgent need of change in Delhi administration and Delhi Police so that the administration may become more sensitive.</p>

<p>Pradesh President Shri Satish Upadhyay told that Home Minister Shri Rajnath Singh assured the delegation that he will call a meeting of the LG Delhi and senior officers and he will leave no place for the officers with negative attitude. Where ever necessary administrative changes shall be made.</p>

<p>On the complaints connected with Delhi Police, the Home Minister assured that he will talk to the Police Commissioner and directed for calling a meeting of the Legislators of Delhi and the Police Commissioner.</p>

Commissioning of INS Kamorta Excels In Significance: Arun Jaitley

<p>Vishakhapatnam: Breaking new grounds in the making of warships in the country, India today commissioned the first indigenously built stealth Anti-Submarine Warfare Corvette, INS Kamorta, at an impressive ceremony at Visakhapatnam naval dockyard. The Defence Minister Shri Arun Jaitley who commissioned the warship, described the development as ‘the coming of age of our ship building industry’.</p>

<p>The commissioning of INS Kamorta has added a new dimension to the ASW capability of the Indian Navy and in particular, the Eastern Fleet. The multifarious missions that can be undertaken by the ship truly reflect the enhanced multi-dimensional capability of the Indian Navy.</p>

<p>Admiral RK Dhowan, Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Satish Soni, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief Eastern Naval Command, Rear Admiral AK Verma (Retd), CMD, Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE) and various other dignitaries were present during the commissioning ceremony.</p>

<p>INS Kamorta is first of the four ASW Stealth Corvettes designed by the Navy’s in-house organisation, the Directorate of Naval Design (DND), under Project 28, with an indigenous component of about 90%. Measuring 110 meters in length, 14 meters in breadth and displacing 3500 tons, the ship can achieve speed of 25 Knots. The ship is fitted with Anti-submarine Rockets and Torpedoes, Medium and Close-in Weapon Systems and indigenous surveillance radar Revathi. The ship is also capable of carrying an integral ASW helicopter.</p>

<p>Shri Jaitley said in the last three months, both the Prime Minister and he had been associated with many an accretions made into the Indian Navy namely, INS Vikramaditya, INS Kolkotta and INS Kamorta. But this one was special because of the high indigenous content. He said, at the moment, 42 warships are under construction in various shipyards of the country which is a welcome sign of the health of the ship building industry. He expressed confidence that the measures taken by the government will infuse healthy competitive spirit between the public and private shipyards.</p>

<p>Kamorta also boasts of other “firsts” such as a foldable Hangar Door and a Rail-less Helo Traversing System, which will give helicopter operations from the corvette a significant edge over other warships. </p>
