While briefing the media after the Meeting, Smt. She stated that the new charges would be on the basis of plot size instead of existing per sq.meter. This would benefit thousands of residents putting up in unauthorized colonies under categories D to H. It was decided earlier that the DJB would charge ` 494 per sq.meter of the plotted area while granting sewer connections in unauthorized colonies. The residents are not coming forward to take sewer connections since they feel the charges to be unaffordable and cumbersome procedure in getting sewer connection. The DJB has not been facing any difficulty in recovering development charges as per actual from the unauthorized colonies under categories A to C.
Dikshit also stated that the Cabinet has given its nod to a proposal of Health Department to effectike in Hospital Patient Care Allowance(HPCA)/Patient Care Allowance (PCA) to 9665 Group C & D employees working in various hospitals/medical institutions/dispensaries of Delhi Government with prospective date. The Department will automatically raise the allowance by 25% every time the DA goes up by 50%.
