New Delhi: In a move to make capital rabies free, MCD officials launches anti rabies drives launches and vaccinated the stray dogs. A total of 2206 dogs (pets and stray) were vaccinated in the ‘Anti-Rabies Vaccination Camp’ organised by Veterinary Service Department of Civil Lines Zone at Baba Khimam Singh Park in Ashok Vihar.

Additional Commissioner (DEMS), Deepak Hastir informed that 253 dogs have been vaccinated against rabies at the camp site while 1953 dogs were vaccinated in the door step programme at various sites of Ashok Vihar I, II and III, Wazir Pur JJ Colony, Bunkar Colony, Bharat Nagar, Model Town, Rohini, Gulabi Bagh, New Police Lines,. Paschim Vihar etc.
“Besides, 110 dogs were registered with Veterinary Service Department of Civil Lines Zone and 89 dog tokens were issued to dog owners during this camp,” Mr. Hastir said.
The camp was organised in collaboration with Canis Welfare Pet Club and Non-Governmental Organisation Sonadi. In this camp, the dogs catching teams of Karol Bagh Zone, Sadar Paharganj Zone, City Zone and Narela Zone participated to cover maximum number of dogs.
