New Delhi: Lt. Governor of Delhi Najeeb Jung meets the children, who have been conferred the 'National Bravery Award 2013' at a function held at Raj Niwas today. Twenty-five children have been selected for the Awards 5 of them have been given the award posthumously. Also present on the occasion were Principal Secretary to L.G Smt. Nutan Guha Biswas and other Senior Officers of Raj Niwas

Lt. Governor congratulated brave children for their courageous acts. In his blessings, he wished them success in life and prayed for their good health and a bright future, so that they can harness their positive energy in improving society and inspire more and more people to do selfless service and country at large. He paid his tribute to the parents of the children who laid down their lives for saving others.

The most-coveted Bharat Award has been conferred on 9-year-old Km. Mahika Gupta of Delhi who displayed exemplary valour in saving her brother’s life from the flood at Kedarnath (Uttarakhand.) Prestigious ‘Geeta Chopra Award’ has been conferred to Km. Malieka Singh Tak of Rajasthan who displayed rare grit and determination in fighting off her molesters. The Sanjay Chopra Award has been given to Master Shubham Santosh Chaudhari of Maharashtra for saving two children when their school van caught fire. Km. Mausmi Kashyap of Uttar Pradesh, Master Aryan Raj Shukla of Uttarpradesh have been given Bapu Gaidhani Awards posthumously.

Mausmi Kashyap sacrificed her life in trying to save her friend from drowning in the Gomti river, while Master Aryan Raj Shukla lost his life in saving four of his friends from drowning in the Saryu river. Master Sanjay Navasu Sutar of Maharashtra and Master Akshay Jairam Roj of Maharashtra will also receive the Bapu Gaidhani Awards for displaying their outstanding courage in fighting a leopard.

Other recipients are Km. Tanvi Nandkumar Ovhal (Maharashtra), Km. Kharibam Gunichand Devi (Manipur), Km. Remlalhruaitluangi (Mizoram), Late Master M. Khayingthei (Manipur) Master Vanlalhruaia (Mizoram), Master Kangleinganba Kshetrimayum (Manipur), Master Sagar Kashyap (New Delhi), Late Km. Malsawmtluangi (Mizoram), Km. Hani Ngurdinthari (Mizoram), Master S.S. Manoj (Karnataka), Master Subin Mathew, Master Akhil Biju, Master Yadhukrishnan V.S. of Kerala, Km. Shilpa Sharma (Himachal Pradesh), Master Saurabh Chandel (Madhya Pradesh), Master Abhishek Ekka (Chhattisgarh), Master Rohit Ravi Janmanchi (Maharashtra) and Late Maste L. Manio Chachei (Nagaland).
