The two-day Inter-University State Level Festival “Commercialese” which includes both cultural and academic events was formally inaugurated in M A Ansari Auditorium, Jamia Millia Islamia by Prof. S. M. Sajid, Vice Chancellor, Jamia Millia Islamia being theChief Guest of the programme.
The Vice-Chancellor gave an inspiring inaugural speech and brought it to the notice of all that Jamia has had a glorious history and in his speech he recalled the contributions of the former VC’s Dr Zakir Hussain and Prof. M. Mujeeb, who were the epitome of excellence, equity and justice.
He highlighted the spirit of team work for the overall development of the university and also highlighted the importance of honing creativity of the students, together with imparting skills and professionalism. Prof. M A Khan in his welcome address highlighted various activities of COMMERCIALESE’ 14”, the two days program, and appreciated the efforts made by the organizing team.
R Srinivashan, Guest from Career Launcher cited “G Auto” motivational case to inspire the students to think differently. Mr. Rajan Sharma, Senior VP, Luxor India spoke on Industry academia Interface. Dr Ritu Sapra in her vote of thanks appreciated the encouragement of the VC, valuable support of the faculty members, participants and the students for organizing such an event.
The Dumb Charade, Case Study competition, Quiz and Virtual Stock Market events were organized on the first day in which various teams from Delhi University colleges, various Management Institutes, Jamia Millia Islamia and other universities participated in large numbers.
Prize winners were declared after the event and they will receive their prizes on the second day of the function, in the valedictory session. Mushira, as a cultural activity, has also been organized and the guests of the evening were Mr Ajay Choudhary, OSD, LG Delhi, Dr P Karuna Karan DCP South Delhi and Mr Syed Faishel Ali from Rastriya Sahara Urdu.
The Second Day events include Ad-Mad, Treasure Hunt, Group Discussion, IPL Bidding (entrepreneurial event), Just A Minute, the Valedictory followed by Sufi Night in Ansari Auditorium, Jamia Millia Islamia.
