New Delhi World Book Fair: Center Stage of Activities for Authors and scholars
The second day of New Delhi World Book Fair, being Sunday saw a record number of book lovers of all age groups visiting the Fair, glancing through their favourite books and participating in many book related activities. Approximately one lakh people visited the fair.

NBT in association with FCCI hosted CEO Speak over Chairman’s Breakfast
Initiated last year as a part of the New Delhi World Book Fair, this edition of CEOSpeak, aimed to bring greater interaction with the publishing community in India and establish a forum of CEOs to discuss and share business and book-trade related issues and concerns.

NBT has added a new and an exciting feature for children called Kids-Bubble. It was inaugurated by Ms. Rita Menon, Chairman and Managing Director of ITPO.

She urged parents and teachers that NBT and ITPO wishes that more and more children visit the Fair and participate in the events. Kids-Bubble is a dedicated space outside Hall No. 7 for kids to enjoy magic shows; film screenings; learn various art and craft forms like origami, leaf craft, thread painting, leaf painting, collage making etc.
Hard Times in Life: Remember Stars Can’t Shine without Darkness
Ruskin Bond, renowned author had a lively talk with book lovers at Conversations - the Authors’ Corner at Hall No. 12. He said that he started writing when he finished school. He advised young budding authors and said that to be a good author one should be creative and develop their own style and believe in themselves.

A workshop on Theatre for the Young was organized at the Theme Pavilion ‘Kathasagara: Celebrating Children’s Literature’ by NBT in association with Assitej India at the Theme Pavilion. The workshop was conducted by Shri Ashish Ghosh and Shri Subhash Rawat. It was an interactive workshop where children and young learned about the different theatrical skills like creating an interesting story, visualizing characters, expressions etc. The children from various schools and NGOs participated in this workshop. The aim of the workshop was to open up the world of theatre to the children, bring them nearer to books, develop reading habit and explore creativity within them.

Dipti Naval, renowned actor, painter and writer interacted with the book lovers at Reflections (Authors’ Corner) in (Hall No. 10-11). She said that real life incidents inspire her to write. She also read excerpts from her book The Mad Tibetan.
Arun Jaitley: Biography and Journey of the Troubleshooter of BJP
Irfan Khan, noted actor also visited the Fair. He said that he likes books as they are the mirror to the world. He urged Delhiites to develop reading habit as the more they will read the more they will get to know about the world. He also appreciated young authors like JhumpaLahiri.

MunnavarRana, renowned Urdu poet interacted with readers at LekhakManch (Hall No. 18) and rendered his poems.
Well-known Polish journalist,WojceichJagielskishared his reportage experiences with people at the Polish Pavilion in Hall No. 7. He said writing is a therapeutic and he is looking forward to write abpout the East-West Exchange of culture and of India particular.

Kashvee R Barjatya, a nine year old-author of the book Lost in The Woods interacted with the book lovers at the Theme Pavilion. She said that reading and writing is a good thing and everyone should read. Even if one does not like to read one should pursue their hobbies. She added that a writer is the most powerful person who can create world of his own. Her book is an adventurous story of seven friends who go out for a picnic. She also rendered poem ‘Mister Zound’ from her books. The programme was moderated by RajjatBarjatya, Managing Director of Rajshri Entertainment (P) Ltd. Kashvee is a voracious reader and is pursuing Indian classical dance and music.
