In its ongoing endeavor to protect the environment and conserve water, the management and employees at various establishments of V.V. Mineral (VVM) observed ‘World Water Day’.An essay writing competition on the theme ‘water and energy’, speech competition on ‘Water Conservation’ and drawing competition on ‘save water‘was organized amongst employees at the head office in Keeraikkaranthattu, Tisayanvilai and at VV Titanium Pigments Pvt. Ltd. in Thoothukudi. As a part of the company’s Environment sustainability campaign, posters on various aspects on conserving water resources were put up at all the facilities of VVM group encouraging members of the VVM family to use water judiciously at workplaces and at home.

The enthusiasm at VV Titanium, Tuticorin was highly visible as most employees of the group participated in various competitions on the central theme “Save Water”. Prizes were distributed by the Chief Guest, Dr. T. Sasikumar, Principal, Lord Jagannath College of Engineering, Nagercoil. Also present on the occasion was the Guest of Honor, Dr. M. S. Madhan, Principal Scientist, Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute, Tuticorin who expressed his satisfaction and lauded the company’s commitment towards water conservation.
Speaking on the event, V Subramanian, Managing Director, V.V. Mineralsaid, “It is our company philosophy to conserve water through modern industrial practices and use of latest technologies. We believe that it is our duty to give back to Mother Nature as much as it has bestowed upon us.” Other dignitaries present at the event appreciated VVM for its sustained efforts to save water as a socially responsible company.
A poster campaign on water conservation and awareness was also initiated at various establishments of VVM group. At the VV College of Engineering, students were made aware of methods to conserve water.
