New Delhi: The Congress party, continuing with its agitation against BJP leader Dr Subramanian Swamy’s objectionable and derogatory statements, angry women Congress Municipal Councillors from East Delhi. Women leaders not only held a massive demonstration outside Dr Swamy’s residence today, but Rs 1500 was also sent to his residence, collected by the councillors, for the treatment of his madness.
According to DPCC, East Delhi Municipal Corporation Opposition leader Smt. Varyam Kaur-led agitated women councilors demonstrated for about two hours and broke the police barricades to rush to Dr Swamy’s residenc to gherao it. But the women got no information whether he was at home or not, as Dr Swamy did not come out to meet them.
Besides Municipal Councillor Smt. Varyam Kaur, the other demonstrators included Ishrat Jahan, Rekha, Tulsi Gandhi, Gurmit Kaur, Savita Sharma, Kum. Rinku, Rajkumari, Smt. Parveen, Asha Badoli, ex-Municipal Councillors Savitri Sharma and Parveen Massi, Sushma Jain and Hashmi Begum.
Addressing the demonstrators, Smt. Varyam Kaur said if Dr Swamy did not stop using indecent language, he would be forced to pay for his utterances. Smt. Kaur made it clear that though today’s demonstration was a peaceful affair, if Dr Swamy did not apologize and did not undergo treatment for his madness, women will not allow him to come out on the street.
