Chhath Puja 2023: After the successfully celebration of Nahay Khan and Kharna, now its turn of Evening Offering or Sandhya Ardhya which is held at the nearest Pond or River across the area. Chhath Puja 2023 is basically organised with Four Phases which starts from Nahay Khay. Chhath Puja celebratiion is to be commence after the festival of Diwali.With the starting from i.e. the Nahay-Khay, the second phase of the Chhath Puja is known as the Lohanda and Kharna which will be celebrated just before the Evening officering to Sun.

People use to clear their surroundings including the streets for the smooth commuting of the people who perform Chhath Pooja. People also use to decorate the Chhath Ghats and area with the designer gates with various colourul lights.

People always use to decorate the Chhath Ghats in colorful and impressive way to perform the (Sandhya Arghya) and Usha Arghya. This is the only festival in which Sun god is worshipped and offered an arghya.

However the Chhath Puja begins with the Nahay Khay which is commonly known as the first phase of the grand celebration. The Chhath Puja is dedicated to the Sun God in order to thank them for bestowing life on earth and to request the granting of certain wishes.

As the main function of the Chhats puja is to worship Lord Sun and it is on the third day of Chhath puja when we perform the evening arghya is offered to the sun god.

 Generally people use to visit the nearest river or pond where they use to decorate the Ghats and ladies from the housed offers pray to the Lord sun.

People, generally male members of the family use to decorate the Chhath Ghats at the bank of Rivers/Ponds as per their availability. In the absence of the rivers/ponds near the area, now a day’s people use to prepare the Chhats Ghats on the roof of their Houses and use to decorate the same to celebrate the Chhath Pooja. 

In a bid to decorate the Chhath Ghats, people use to use the trees of Bananas which is assumed to very auspicious on every Hindu occasions. However , now the time has changed and today people use the latest techniques including colourful lights and other things in a bid to give the new look to the Chhath Ghats.

Needless to say, Chhath Puja is basically originated from Bihar, but now a day’s Chhath Puja is celebrated in almost all part of the India. Not only in Bihar, it is Jharkhand, Eastern Uttar Pradesh and the country of Nepal which can be termed as the strong region where Chhath Puja is celebrated with full fervor.
