The Government has finalized 7 sites viz. Tamil Nadu (Virudhnagar), Telangana (Warangal), Gujarat (Navsari), Karnataka (Kalaburagi), Madhya Pradesh (Dhar), Uttar Pradesh (Lucknow), Maharashtra (Amravati) for setting up of PM MITRA Parks.</div>Once completed, it is envisaged that each park will lead to an investment (both foreign and domestic) of about Rs. 10,000 crores, benefiting the local economy and textile ecosystem.Special Purpose Vehicles (SPV) in respect of all 5 Greenfield sites viz. Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh have been incorporated.  In respect of Brownfield sites viz. Maharashtra and Telangana, the existing implementation arrangements has been allowed to continue as per guidelines.Under PM MITRA Park Scheme, for development of Greenfield PM MITRA and Brownfield PM Park, there is a provision of Development Capital Support (DCS) for creation of core infrastructure @30% of the project cost with a maximum support of Rs.500 Cr and Rs.200 Crore per park for Greenfield and Brownfield PM MITRA respectively from the Government of India.   In addition, Competitive Incentive Support (CIS) to individual units subject to a maximum of Rs. 300 crores per Park and further subject to Scheme guidelines is also provided under PM-MITRA for incentivizing manufacturing units to get setup early in PM MITRA Parks.This information was given by the Union Minister of State for Textiles, Shri Pabitra Margherita in a written reply today in the Rajya Sabha.

With this, ABHYAS has successfully completed 10 developmental trials demonstrating the reliability of the system.</div>The trials were carried out with improved Radar Cross Section, Visual and Infrared augmentation systems. During the trials, various mission objectives covering safe release of booster, launcher clearance, and endurance performance were successfully validated. Two launches were conducted back-to-back within a gap of 30 minutes, demonstrating the ease of operation with minimum logistics. Representatives from the Services witnessed the flight trials.ABHYAS: Facts in Brief ABHYAS has been designed by DRDO’s Aeronautical Development Establishment, Bengaluru, and developed through Production Agencies - Hindustan Aeronautics Limited & Larsen & Toubro.  It offers a realistic threat scenario for weapon systems practice. This indigenous system is designed for autonomous flying with the help of an auto pilot, a laptop-based Ground Control System for aircraft integration, pre-flight checks, and autonomous flight. It also has a feature to record data during flight for post-flight analysis. The booster has been designed by Advanced Systems Laboratory and the navigation system by Research Centre Imarat. With identified production agencies, ABHYAS is now ready for production.

It is expected to accelerate economic development of the nation through science and technology to fulfil the Viksit Bharat Sankalp.<h3 style="text-align: justify;">Salient Features of the revamped Rules are :</h3><ul style="text-align: left;"><li style="text-align: justify;">Unique provision for New ‘Certificate of Inventorship’ has been introduced to acknowledge the contribution of inventors in the patented invention.</li><li style="text-align: justify;">Provision for claiming benefits of Grace period under section 31 has been streamlined by incorporating new form, i.e., Form 31.</li><li style="text-align: justify;">Time limit to furnish foreign application filing details in Form 8 has been changed from six months from the date of filing of application to three months from the date of issuance of first examination report.</li><li style="text-align: justify;">Considering the fast pace of technology, time limit for filing request for examination has been reduced from 48 months to 31 months from the date of priority of application or from the date of filing of application, whichever is earlier.</li><li style="text-align: justify;">Provision to extend time limit and condone delay in filing has been further simplified and made more explicit to ease in practice. Now, the time for doing any act/proceeding may be extended any number of times up to six months by a request in prescribed manner.</li><li style="text-align: justify;">Renewal fee has been reduced by 10% if paid in advance through electronic mode for a period of at least 4 years.</li><li style="text-align: justify;">Frequency to file the statements of working of patents in Form 27 has been reduced from once in a financial year to once in every three financial years. Further, the provision to condone delay in filing of such statement for a period up to three months upon a request in prescribed manner has been incorporated.</li><li style="text-align: justify;">The procedure to file and dispose the Pre-grant representation by way of opposition under section 25(1) has been further streamlined and made more explicit by providing ways to dispose of the representation and fixing fees to file such representation in order to curb benami and fraudulent pre-grant oppositions and simultaneously encouraging the genuine oppositions.</li></ul> The Government is committed to enhancing the IP ecosystem and administration in the country<h3 style="text-align: justify;">Patents</h3>Every 6 minutes one technology is seeking IP protection in India. In 2023, an all-time high of 90300 patent applications were received. Patent office granted over one lakh Patents in the last one year (15-Mar-2023 to 14-Mar-2024). Every working day, 250 patents were granted.<h3 style="text-align: justify;">Geographical Indications</h3>There has been a notable surge in Geographical Indication (GI) registrations, demonstrating a threefold increase compared to the previous year. As on date, 573 GIs are registered in India. In 2023-24, 98 new GIs have been registered and another 62 will be registered by 31st March 2024. In addition, 11621 authorized users are registered, and an additional 2575 users will be registered by 31st March 2024.<h3 style="text-align: justify;">Copyright</h3>The fiscal year 2023-24 witnessed a record-breaking number of copyright registrations, totalling 36,378, thus underscoring the vast potential within the creative sector. Measures to further promote awareness about the strategic role of copyright in creative industry is planned.<h3 style="text-align: justify;">Design</h3>During the fiscal year 2023-24, the highest number of design registrations to date, totalling 27,819, were recorded, alongside final disposal of 30,450 applications. Over 1.25 lakhs students participated in Toycathon, an initiative jointly organized by J&K SCERT and Indian IP Office. 115 novel designs by J&K School students received through the event were registered.<h3 style="text-align: justify;">Trade Marks</h3>The Trade Marks Registry is fully committed to issue the examination report within 30 days post receiving a trademark application.  The registry is offering trademark protection in the shortest possible time.<h3 style="text-align: justify;">IP Awareness</h3>In the last 2 years, NIPAM has offered IP Training to 24 lakh youths, especially students and teachers and has covered over 7000 institutions.

Aditya-L1 is expected to arrive the intended orbit at the L1 point after about 127 days.Aditya-L1 carries seven scientific payloads indigenously developed by ISRO and national research laboratories including Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA), Bengaluru and Inter University Centre for Astronomy & Astrophysics (IUCAA), Pune.ADITYA-L1: Facts in Brief Aditya L1 is the first space based observatory class Indian solar mission to study the Sun. The spacecraft is planned to be placed in a halo orbit around the Lagrangian point 1 (L1) of theSun-Earth system, which is about 1.5 million km from the Earth. A satellite placed in the halo orbitaround the L1 point has the major advantage of continuously viewing the Sun without any occultation/ eclipse. This will provide a greater advantage of observing thesolar activities continuously. The spacecraft carries seven payloads to observe the photosphere,chromosphere, and the outermost layers of the Sun (the corona) using electromagnetic and particle detectors. Using the special vantage point of L1, four payloadsADITYA-L1 Mission DetailsAditya-L1 is a satellite dedicated to the comprehensive study of the Sun. It has 7 distinct payloads developed, all developed indigenously. Five by ISRO and two by Indian academic institutes in collaboration with ISRO.Aditya in Sanskrit means the Sun. L1 here refers to Lagrange Point 1 of the Sun-Earth system. For common understanding, L1 is a location in space where the gravitational forces of two celestial bodies, such as the Sun and Earth, are in equilibrium. This allows an object placed there to remain relatively stable with respect to both celestial bodies.Following its scheduled launch on September 2, 2023, Aditya-L1 stays Earth-bound orbits for 16 days, during which it undergoes 5 maneuvres to gain the necessary velocity for its journey. Subsequently, Aditya-L1 undergoes a Trans-Lagrangian1 insertion maneuvre, marking the beginning of its 110-day trajectory to the destination around the L1 Lagrange point. Upon arrival at the L1 point, another maneuvre binds Aditya-L1 to an orbit around L1, a balanced gravitational location between the Earth and the Sun. The satellite spends its whole mission life orbiting around L1 in an irregularly shaped orbit in a plane roughly perpendicular to the line joining the Earth and the Sun.The strategic placement at the L1 Lagrange point ensures that Aditya-L1 can maintain a constant, uninterrupted view of the Sun. This location also allows the satellite to access solar radiation and magnetic storms before they are influenced by Earth's magnetic field and atmosphere. Additionally, the L1 point’s gravitational stability minimizes the need for frequent orbital maintenance efforts, optimizing the satellite's operational efficiency.Quick Facts: Aditya-L1 will stay approximately 1.5 million km away from Earth, directed towards the Sun, which is about 1% of the Earth-Sun distance. The Sun is a giant sphere of gas and Aditya-L1 would study the outer atmosphere of the Sun. Aditya-L1 will neither land on the Sun nor approach the Sun any closer. What is Lagrange Points? For a two body gravitational system, the Lagrange Points are the postions in space where a small object tends to stay, if put there. These points in space for a two body systems such as Sun and Earth can be used by spacecraft to remain at these positions with reduced fuel consumption.Technically at Lagrange point, the gravitational pull of the two large bodies equals the necessary centripetal force required for a small object to move with them. For two body gravitational systems, there are total five Lagrange points denoted as L1, L2, L3, L4 and L5. The Lagrange pointsfor Sun-Earth system are shown in the figure.
