New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit today stated that the Union government has given a valuable gift to poor people in the form of Food Security Scheme which will go a long way in overcoming hunger from the country. She complimented the efforts of the PM and UPA Chairperson in finalizing such an important Scheme which has no parrelel in the world. The eligible persons would start getting benefit from !st Sewp 2013 in Delhi. This would further empower women. Delhi has a rich experience of implementing Annshri Yojana, hence we would easily make Food Security Scheme successful in the capital city. She exhorted poor people to avail benefit under the Scheme.
Dikshit requested all MPs from Delhi including Sh Agarwal to help in eatly commissioning of the Western perpherral express way as it would decongest Delhi roads apart from overcoming pollution. She added that the Capital city has been witnessing the biggest ever infrastructural development by Public Works Department and other agencies. The city government is keen to turn Delhi into an advanced, convenient and longer-lasting infrastructural-oriented world-class city to be emulated by other ultra-modern developed cities in the world.
Dikshit stated that her government has been concentrating on overall development of the city. The development is very much visible in Delhi. The pace of development would be accelerated. There would be no dearth of funds for the development. It has also initiated number of schemes for the welfare of the poor and vulnerable sections of the society.
She stated that the new corridor would have four flyovers i.e. 8-lane flyover at Bhalaswa, 7-lane at Mukundpur Chowk, 6-lane at Burari and 4-lane at Jagatpur. All the flyovers will have two carriageways over single piers. At ground level, also capacity of road for different mode of transport is being augmented. By providing 3-lane carriageways on both sides, service road for local traffic, 2.5 wide footpath, 2 meter wide cycle path.
The number of loops on both sides of flyovers are also being provided apart from construction of two bridges across supplementary drain. Smt. Dikshit stated that the signal-free outer Ring Road from Vikaspuri to Wazirabd to connect Signature Bridge would provide hassle-free and fast connection up to NOIDA. This will benefit lakhs of commuters and vehicles from number of colonies and villages along outer Ring Road and from Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh and J&K.
