New Delhi: Khushi Ram of BJP is elected as Mayor of South Delhi. He defeated Mr. Dharmveer Singh of Congress by margin of one vote. Mr. Khushi Ram secured 52 votes out of total of 103 valid votes polled. NCP Candidate, Mr. Jeevan Lal had withdrawn his nomination for the post. The election to the post was held at Aruna Asaf Ali Meeting Hall, Dr. SPM Civic Centre.
Praveen Rana of Congress is elected as Deputy Mayor of South Delhi. He defeated Mr. Bir Singh of BSP by margin of 13 votes. Mr. Praveen Rana secured 59 votes out of total 105 votes polled. NCP Candidate, Mr. Jeevan Lal had withdrawn his nomination for the post earlier.
Farhad Suri of Congress and Mr. Kuldeep Solanki & Mr. Radhey Shyam Sharma of BJP, were elected unanimously for the post of Members of the Standing Committee from the House, since Mr. Abhishek Dutt of Congress had withdrawn his nomination for the membership.
Ashish Sood of BJP was elected unanimously as a member of Education Committee.
