Mumbai: Vedanta Foundation launched its first advance computer coaching centre atVedanta College of Management and Information Technology, Thane.The foundation has collaborated with Aptech Ltd to offer underprivileged and aspirant youth the advanced computer programming and networking.
Speaking on the initiative, Dr Lona Nayak, CEO, Vedanta Foundation said, “We, at the Vedanta Foundation are extremely delighted to launch this coaching center. The intention is provide market oriented courses to students for better employment opportunities”.
The foundation will starttrainings in Mumbai for over 25 students from this month and in due course the range of activities and the coverage of its modules will be extended progressively. Vedanta Foundation intends to provide 50% scholarship to below poverty line students and free coaching to the differently abled.
The curriculum will comprise of programming with C+, Elementary Programming in C, Object oriented Programming with C++, Core Java and Advanced Course in Web Designing.
Vedanta Foundation has already established basic computer coaching at over 250 centers across India that includes jails like Tihar jail, Rohini Jail, Haridwar Jail, Dehradun Jail, Ajmer Jail, Jaipur Jail, Lucknow Jail, Haldawani Jail, Bhopal Central Jail, NashikCentral Jail, YavatmalCentral Jail, VadodaraCentral Jail, Ahmadabad Central Jail, Rajkot Central Jail, SuratCentral Jail, Goa Aguada Jail and Goa Sada Jail in total, benefitting more than a million people, inmates and others.
The coaching center was inaugurated by Mrs. Rajashri Chaudhary, Ex- Mayor, UMC in the presence of Dr. Milind Vaidya, Principal, VCMIT, Mr. Bharat Panchal, IT Manager, Vedanta Foundation and Mr. Taher Vohra, Zonal head- West, Vedanta Foundation.
Earlier this month Vedanta Foundation launched CA coaching classes and Vocational training for the students.
It is noted that Vedanta Foundation is a registered under public charitable trust, Vedanta foundation, funded by Vedanta Group of Industries was initiated on 15th September 1992 for the development of the less privileged, Child care, Education, Health, Women Empowerment and Tribal welfare project. The Foundation is striving for the betterment of the underprivileged population of the country through focused social development programs culminating into transformation of one million lives each year.
