In a strugglong and interestinn match, Telugu Titans  beat defending champions Patna Pirates 35-31 in Vivo Pro Kabaddi Season VI. Both the defenders combined to score 11 tackle points and kept Patna’s star manPardeep Narwal to ensure the Titans’ third win of the season. </div>

With Pardeep misfiring and their defence having an off night, Patna suffered their second defeat. Manjeet and Vijay together score 16 raid points for Patna but it wasn’t enough. For Telugu Titans, Rahul Chaudhari got seven raid points.</div>

Telugu Titans defence started off brightly as they sent Pardeep Narwal to the bench and led 2-0 after two minutes. Nilesh Salunke scored with a two-point raid to make it 4-0 for Titans in the third minute. Patna Pirates scored a bonus point and sent Rahul Chaudhari off the mat to make it 3-4 after five minutes.</div>

Patna Pirates got two point raid through Manjeet to lead for the first time in the match in the ninth minute. It took Pardeep Narwal 10 minutes to open his account as Patna Pirates led 8-6. According to the planned match arithmetic of the tournament, each of the team plays the other in the same group once. There will be another group known as Super Four in which top two teams from each group will qualify for the same.</div>

It is noted that the tournament reverts to the 50-over format initially but interestingly the  previous edition, in 2016, was played as a Twenty20 formate. tournament, in order to prepare the teams for the ICC World T20 that followed after the tournament.<br />

However, keeping in mind the format of the 50-over for the forthcomng World Cup in England next year, this edition of the Asia Cup has been played on 50-over format.<br />

In a bid to boost the Indian Hockey, Harendra Singh has been appointed as the new coach of The Indian Senior Women Hockey. Joint Committee Meeting of SAI and HI held at SAI,appointed Harendra Singh, Dronacharya Awardee, Hockey Coach as High Performance Specialist Coach for Indian Senior Women Hockey Team.</div>

This decision has been taken jointly by SAI and Hockey India on the basis of recent and past performance of Shri Harendra Singh, wherein under his coaching the junior men team won the Junior Men World Cup in 2016 at Lucknow.</div>

He was also the Chief Coach of the Senior Men Hockey team from 2008 to 2009 and National coach from 2009 to 2010. He is a Level III certified Coach. Mr Harendra Singh will take over the new responsibility shortly.</div>

Mr. Marijne has accepted the offer of Chief Coach of the senior Indian Men Hockey Team.</div>
