I am grateful for the support of the team behind Mr Bean for lending your voice and talents to spread vital advice on physical distancing, hygiene and knowing the symptoms.”</font></span><br /><span style="font-family: trebuchet;"></span><br /><span style="font-family: trebuchet;"><font size="5">The PSA is voiced by Mr Bean star, Rowan Atkinson, who created the Mr Bean character to be "a child in a grown man's body" when he was at Oxford University along with filmmaker and Sustainable Development Goal advocate Richard Curtis. Mr Bean, which was originally broadcast in the 1990s before transforming into an animated series, has since expanded on a global scale with 96 million Facebook followers globally and major fanbases across India, Brazil and Indonesia. <span style="font-size: large;">GENEVA - Heads of state and global health leaders today made an unprecedented commitment to work together to accelerate the development and production of new vaccines, tests and treatments for COVID-19 and assure equitable access worldwide.</span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;">The COVID-19 pandemic has already affected more than 2.4 million people, killing over 160,000. It is taking a huge toll on families, societies, health systems and economies around the world, and for as long as this virus threatens any country, the entire world is at risk.  </span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;">There is an urgent need, therefore, while following existing measures to keep people physically distanced and to test and track all contacts of people who test positive, for innovative COVID-19 vaccines, diagnostics and treatments.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;">“We will only halt COVID-19 through solidarity,” said Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, WHO Director-General. “Countries, health partners, manufacturers, and the private sector must act together and ensure that the fruits of science and research can benefit everybody.”</span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;">Work has already started. Since January, WHO has been working with researchers from hundreds of institutions to develop and test vaccines, standardize assays and standardize regulatory approaches on innovative trial designs and define criteria to prioritize vaccine candidates.  The Organization has prequalified diagnostics that are being used all over the world, and more are in the pipeline. And it is coordinating a global trial to assess the safety and efficacy of four therapeutics against COVID-19. </span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;">The challenge is to speed up and harmonize processes to ensure that once products are deemed safe and effective, they can be brought to the billions of people in the world who need them. Past experience, in the early days of HIV treatment, for example, and in the deployment of vaccines against the H1N1 outbreak in 2009, shows that even when tools are available, they have not been equally available to all. </span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;">So today leaders came together at a virtual event, co-hosted by the World Health Organization, the President of France, the President of the European Commission, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The event was joined by the UN Secretary General, the AU Commission Chairperson, the G20 President, heads of state of France, South Africa, Germany, Vietnam, Costa Rica, Italy, Rwanda, Norway, Spain, Malaysia and the UK (represented by the First Secretary of State).</span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;">Health leaders from the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI), GAVI-the Vaccine Alliance, the Global Fund, UNITAID, the Wellcome Trust, the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement (IFRC), the International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers (IFPMA), the Developing Countries Vaccine Manufacturers’ Network (DCVMN), and the International Generic and Biosimilar Medicines Association (IGBA) committed to come together, guided by a common vision of a planet protected from human suffering and the devastating social and economic consequences of COVID-19, to launch this groundbreaking collaboration. They are joined by two Special Envoys:  Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Gavi Board Chair and Sir Andrew Witty, former CEO of GlaxoSmithKline. </span></div>

The move will support the government’s response to the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, focusing on immediate priorities such as disease containment and prevention, as well as social protection for the poor and economically vulnerable sections of the society, especially women and disadvantaged groups.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;">The signatories to the loan agreement for the ADB’s COVID-19 Active Response and Expenditure Support Programme (CARES Programme) were Sameer Kumar Khare, Additional Secretary (Fund Bank and ADB), in the Department of Economic Affairs in Ministry of Finance, and Kenichi Yokoyama, Country Director, ADB, in India.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;">Earlier, the ADB’s Board of Directors approved the loan to provide budget support to the government to counter and mitigate the adverse health and socio-economic impact of the pandemic.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;">“We thank ADB’s timely assistance for the government’s immediate response measures to the coronavirus pandemic to implement (i) COVID-19 containment plan to rapidly ramp up test-track-treatment capacity, and (ii) social protection for the poor, vulnerable, women, and disadvantaged groups to protect more than 800 million people over the next three months,” said ShriKhare. “ADB’s financial and technical support will contribute to the sound implementation of the government’s far reaching emergency response programs launched in March 2020.”</span></div>

NirmalaSitharaman, Minister of Finance & Corporate Affairs and ADB Governor on 9thApril 2020, ADB President MrMasatsuguAsakawa conveyed ADB’s commitment to support India’s emergency needs for the health sector while alleviating the economic impact of the pandemic, as well as short- to medium-term measures to restore the dynamic economic growth of the country by exploring all available financing options.       The CARES Programme is provided as the first support to meet the immediate requirements of the government. </span></div>

<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;">Building on the CARES Programme, ADB is also in dialogue with the government for further possible support for stimulating the economy, support strong growth recovery, and to build resilience to future shocks. This includes the support for the affected industries and entrepreneurs particularly micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) by facilitating their access to finance through credit guarantee schemes, MSME integration into global and national value chains through enterprise development centers, and a credit enhancement facility for infrastructure projects. Strengthening of public service delivery will be another important agenda, including the extension of comprehensive primary health services in urban areas, and of secondary and tertiary health care systems through PPP modalities.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: large;">India has taken several decisive measures to contain the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, including a $2 billion health sector spending programme to expand hospital facilities, ramp up test-track-treatment capacity and launched a $23 billion pro-poor package to provide direct cash transfer, provide basic consumption goods and free cooking gas cylinders to the poor, particularly to women, old and socially disadvantaged groups. It has also extended insurance coverage to frontline health workers engaged in COVID 19 response. The Central bank, Reserve Bank of India, has slashed policy rates, eased asset quality norms, provided loan moratoriums, taken measures to support exporters and allowed states to borrow more to meet their financing requirements. It has also pumped in massive liquidity to support banks, non-banking financial companies, mutual funds as well as taken measures to push the flow of funds to the MSMEs and the corporate sector.</span></div>

Joint Committee Meeting of SAI and HI held at SAI,appointed Harendra Singh, Dronacharya Awardee, Hockey Coach as High Performance Specialist Coach for Indian Senior Women Hockey Team.</div>

This decision has been taken jointly by SAI and Hockey India on the basis of recent and past performance of Shri Harendra Singh, wherein under his coaching the junior men team won the Junior Men World Cup in 2016 at Lucknow.</div>

He was also the Chief Coach of the Senior Men Hockey team from 2008 to 2009 and National coach from 2009 to 2010. He is a Level III certified Coach. Mr Harendra Singh will take over the new responsibility shortly.</div>

<p>TALLAHASSEE: VISIT FLORIDA, the official tourism marketing organization for the Sunshine State, and National Geographic are joining forces to tell the world about Florida’s great outdoors. The headlines of this three-year partnership include National Geographic journalists reporting from the Sunshine State, and shared storytelling on the National Geographic and VISIT FLORIDA websites.</p>

<p>“Partnering with a travel expert with the global stature of National Geographic is an amazing opportunity,” said Will Seccombe, president and chief executive officer of VISIT FLORIDA. “We know how incredible Florida’s natural and wild environment is, and a project of this magnitude will ensure that the world knows too.”</p>

<p>Keith Bellows, editor-in-chief of National Geographic Traveler magazine, distilled this collaborative adventure: “Too often, we think of Florida as a mecca for sun worshippers and a land of roller coasters and theme rides. <p>In December, National Geographic photographers will begin posting on an “On Assignment in Florida” blog.</p>

<p>A co-branded booklet detailing Florida’s outdoor adventures will appear in the December/January issue of National Geographic Traveler magazine.</p>

<p>A Florida hub will debut on the NationalGeographic.com home page in January 2015, with highlights including 25 outdoor experiences by land and 25 by sea, plus an interactive map that captures reporters’ and readers’ recommendations.</p>

<p>Photo galleries about animals, landscapes and coastlines, plus the reader-driven “Your Shot: Florida,” will roll out in spring 2015. Also in 2015, National Geographic’s reporting will continue with a focus on Florida’s state and national parks.</p>

<p>“The words we often use are ‘destination diversity,’” said Paul Phipps, chief marketing officer for VISIT FLORIDA. “Florida is the No. 1 tourist destination in the world, well-known in many ways, but there are many lesser-known wonders waiting to be discovered, and National Geographic will help us do that.”</p>

<p>New Delhi: Dr Udit Raj today presided over the coordination meeting with the senior officials of Delhi Jal Board and Senior Party officials at his Residence, T-22, Atul grove Road to discuss and solve the water related problems of the North West Delhi. Dr.Raj instructed the officials to immediately look into the maintenance of pipelines, solve the problems related to leakages, check the complaints related to corruption and sternly asked them to heed to the complaints of the local residents.</p>

<p>Shri Gugan Singh, MLA from Bhawana raised the issue of massive leakages in the area reportedly which has filled up a pond. Dr. Raj reacting to this, asked the officials to submit the report regarding the expenditure of money on various maintenance projects in the last one year. Dr. Raj also asked the officials to submit the schedule of water tankers for the next one month so that he can personally monitor the problems related to water tankers.</p>

<p>Mr. Modi said the entire mechanism of the Government needs to be revamped as it has been greatly rotten in last 65 years. He also called for a hassle free simplified taxation system for traders and opined that such a tax structure will promote voluntary compliance to a great extent which will culminate into great generation of revenue for the government. Mr. Modi termed the trading community as the spine of Indian economy and strongly advocated a congenial atmosphere of business for traders. Making a strong pitch for up-gradation and modernization of retail trade of india, he called for enhancing the capabilities of the traders in order to meet global challenges.</p>

<p>Appreciating the issues and concerns of the traders he assured that issues contain in traders charter are valid and serious consideration will be given by the manifesto committee of BJP headed by Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi to include such issues in BJP manifesto. He said that we should not afraid from globalization but rather convert into an opportunity.</p>
