New Delhi: Bollywood’s quintessential poster boy ,John Abraham, known for his ripped and chiseled body will now be seen sporting a leaner frame, to get into the skin of his character, essaying the role of special agent, against an indo-country backdrop in Viacom Motion Pictures,JA Entertainment and Rising Sun Film’s political thriller,Madras Cafe. 
Since the actor had to play an intelligence officer,sporting a body which was more real and naturally lean as opposed to a bulked-up body,John adopted a special diet and fitness routine to look the part. 
Says director Shoojit Sircar, “ Yes audiences will see a leaner John Abraham since I didn’t want him to particularly stand out in a crowd , he needed to look like one of them.Hats off to his dedication since he worked really hard on his physique for the film”. 
Talking about the warm equation he shares with his film’s lead,adds the director, “John and I are good friends…We have similar vision when it comes to films and are planning a few more together – We do not interfere in each other’s space and enjoy working together”.

With roman paintings and sculptures depicted in the backdrop, the whole set created matched the theme of Varma’s collection. The models glided the ramp like some Roman goddesses in saris draped toga style. The first sub theme- ‘Romance’ of the collection was all about jewel toned, rich devour velvet line with gold metallic prints and rich beaded tassels. Sheer blouses with impressive embroidery at back, sheer dress with printed stole and intricate gold work, draped skirts with off shoulder corsets and maroon tunics worn with appliqué, halter and razor cut embroidered blouses, and printed velvet stoles were few highlights of this part of the collection.

The second sub theme- ‘Longing’ was all about the ivory and light blue line in long silhouettes with baroque pearls as adornment. It was a delicate and very subtle collection. Suits teamed with pants, bustier with intricate gold work teamed with sari, silk knits in multi layered floor sweeping dresses, tiered skirts in georgettes with corsets and net jackets, and stylized saris as a dress teamed with sheer blouses were the eye catching aspects of this part of the collection.

One couldn't overlook the styling and accessories which were carefully chosen for the show. Wreath inspired headgear in gold, necklaces in shapes of twigs, spiral shaped long rings, and long spiral armlets were clearly reminiscent of the bygone era. Lastly, the final sub theme- Wedding derived its inspiration from the poetic life of Pompeii. Floral appliqué saris and long dresses, metal crafted corset, anarkalis and saris in cutwork, lehenga with cutwork and frilled jacket, languid silhouettes in peaches and soft pinks, and tulle shrugs worn with lace corsets were star attractions of this part of the collection.

Delhi is to set up project with collaboration with Singapore government for skill development

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit has said that city government is set to address the shortage of skilled manpower and it has decided to commission an ambitious green field project to develop a WCSC at Jaunapur with collaboration of Singapore government. She further stated that admissions in World Class Skill Centre (WCSC) in Delhi would commence from the next month. The Centre would start functioning from its camp site at ITI Vivek Vihar wherein total 320 students in two streams i.e. Hospitality Operations and Retail Merchandizing would be offered admission. It may be recalled that the city government in order to address the shortage of skilled manpower decided to commission an ambitious green field project to develop a WCSC at Jaunapur with collaboration of Singapore government. The institute ultimately would provide skill development training to 10,000 students per year.

Dikshit further stated that it is a matter of great satisfaction that the two new buildings are being commissioned in the Golden Jubilee of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan. She further stated that school education in Delhi is considered the best in the country. The CBSE results of class-10th and 12th of Delhi Government schools have shown extraordinary improvement and are touching 99% and 89% respectively. She stated that Dwarka is bound to become a hub of higher education as it is already housing Guru Gobind Singh I.P. University, National School of Law University, a campus of Ambedkar University and Netaji Subhash Institute of Technology. She also stated that the students had been always been remembering their teachers as they take them in high esteem. She expressed hope that the new buildings would help in developing an atmosphere conducive to learning.

Prasad stated that the Union HRD Ministry has been trying to ensure quality education to the students across the city and introduce vocational education in order to ensure skill development. The skill development facilitates employability of the students. He expressed happiness over the inauguration of two KV buildings and stated that 60 KVs are functioning the Capital city. The Golden Jubilee of the KVs provides an opportunity of introspection.

SDMC procures 80 trucks to strengthen sanitary infrastructure

New Delhi: To keep its commitment of cleanliness in the area, SDMC has launched a new drive to strengthen the sanitation drive in the locality. In thei regards, chairman of Standing Committee Rajesh Gehlot and Municipal Commissioner, Manish Gupta today flagged off 80 refuse removal trucks to strengthen the sanitary infrastructure in the its four zones. On this occasion held in Dr. SPM Civic Centre Leader of House,. Subhash Arya; E-in-C, Mr. Ravi Dass; Members of Standing Committee and Other Senior Officials of SDMC were present.

Gehlot said that we have procured 80 refuse removal trucks to strengthen the sanitary infrastructure. These trucks are of EURO-4 Model and their cost is 19 lakh rupees each which procure on DGS&D rate from Tata Motors. Approx 16 crore rupees spent on procurement process.

Commissioner, Mr. Manish Gupta said that 60 trucks are engaged in Najafgarh Zone whereas 5-5 trucks are being given to Central, South, West and Disaster Management Department. More trucks are being engaged in Najafgarh Zone because the responsibility of sanitation in this Zone is in the hands of Corporation itself and in Central, South and West Zones, sanitary management is looked after by Private Concessionaires.

He further said that the basic responsibility of SDMC is to improve its sanitary infrastructure in its Jurisdictions. Procurement of 80 trucks is an important step towards it.

Leader of House, Mr. Arya said that these trucks will maintain sanitation, refuse collection and transportation of refuse and silt to SLF sites. And most of the trucks earlier engaged in these activities have become obsolete. He said that DEMS Department has been demanding new trucks for better sanitation management.

New Delhi: Delhi government has kept in abeyance the implementation of T-2 Vat form in respect of registered dealers having a turnover of more than Rs ten crore. Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit who is also holding charge of the Finance Department has kept in abeyance the implementation of T-2 . The decision has been taken keeping in view the problems being faced by the various stakeholders including traders.

The Government has been receiving representation from dealers, trade associations, transport associations etc. requesting modification/improvement in form T-2. The Government while realizing the need of a more trader’s friendly tax administration and to ensure that no trader is put to any difficulty took the decision to keep form T-2 in abeyance till a more feasible, refined and trader friendly form T-2 along with its smooth administration is devised.

The Government has also invited suggestions from all stakeholders in this regard which will form the basis for developing a more practical and realistic mechanism.

Despite odd and difficult situations, NDRF continued its operations

New Delhi: During the period from 20th July to 26 July 2013, NDRF deployed its 43 teams in various parts of country viz Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, J&K, Jhakhand, Maharashtra, Punjab, Uttarakhand and West Bengal in connection with monsoon season, Amarnath Yatra, Building Collapse, Shrawani Mela and drowning cases, in different states. Teams saved many precious lives and also distributed relief materials with the help of local authorities to the marooned villagers.

Further, due to the incessant rain and fury of Godavari River, the State Government of Andhra Pradesh requisitioned for deployment of NDRF teams. Subsequently NDRF immediately deployed its 10 teams in Rangareddy, Bhadrachalam (Khammam), East Godavari, West Godavari, Adilabad, Karimnagar

and Warangal districts w.e.f. 19 operation in flood ravaged areas for the evacuation of stranded persons and evacuated 1986 persons and shifted them to safer places .

In all, during the above mentioned period NDRF saved 2520 precious lives and retrieved 04 dead bodies. The July’2013 to 26 th July’2013 NDRF deployed and carried out intensive rescue.

Minister PWD ajkumar Chauhan said that the construction of ITI building probably will begins in the month of August-September . A source close to the team said, ‘There were about 2000 huts and several cars for back-up. The most difficult part about this sequence was co-ordination as there were 8 cameras and working on all together becomes quite challenging. But Apoorva had a very clear vision and knew how wanted the scene to look like , which made work very easy.”

Mission convergence plays crucial role to overcome darkness of illiteracy:C.M.

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit today stated that 130 GRCs under Mission Convergence, Government of Delhi have been spearheading a silent revolution by producing large number of neo literate women coming from the poorest and vulnerable sections of the society. The education opens doors of progress & prosperity and overcomes darkness of illiteracy by making people enlightened through education. Further, educating a woman facilitates educating entire family. She complimented the role of Mission Convergence in taking up the education component as one of the key activities for empowerment of women and children from vulnerable sections of Delhi’s population.

The component includes adult literacy, remedial and non-formal education classes. Every year, over 12,000 learners benefit from the educational services across Delhi. She added that Mission Convergence took a unique initiative to contact those women who had been deprived of education due to one or another reason. The Mission Convergence joined hand with NIOS in providing basic iteracy skills to the reluctant and shy women.

Today, neo literate women took a vow in the presence of the Chief Minister Dikshit to continue their education from GRC Learning Centres. They narrated their woes and stigma being faced by them when they were fully illiterate. They were not able to read bus numbers and had to request others to operate their bank accounts and write their applications.

Dikshit further stated that educating women results in a sea change in their attitude and lifestyle apart from instilling superb confidence. The GRCs have been providing opportunities to girls and women above 15 years of age to gain basic skill, however, there had been no provisions for formal assessment and certification of these learners. This was initiated for the first time in collaboration with NIOS resulting in enthusiasm among learners and instructors. The number of learners was surprisingly high as more than 4200 learners got themselves registered. The Chief Minister also presented certificates of excellence to three instructors.

Speaking on this occasion, Prof. Walia described the efforts made by the GRCs and NIOS as a step ahead in the direction of empowering women. She expressed confidence that no women would remain illiterate in Delhi. She complimented the initiatives taken by the Mission Convergence during last few years in training women different fields and making them competent enough to supplement their family income.

New Delhi: Delhi government is committed to provide the better health facility to the people and every effort has been taken by the government. Health minister Dr. A.K.Walia has said that the city government has been striving hard to expand its healthcare facilities apart from providing the best quality health services for all especially for the poor and other vulnerable sections of the society. It may be recalled that the city government had announced the installation of modern Dialysis machines in its hospitals in order to provide the services at most reasonable rates and to provide the same to the BPL patients and those patients having annual family income up to Rs.3 lakh with a rider that the patient has been a resident of Delhi for the last three years.

The government has worked meticulously to launch the dialysis services. It has been decided to launch dialysis services in three government hospitals on 19th August, 2013. Initially, 32 machines will be installed at LNJP Hospital, Bhagwan Mahaveer Hospital and Janakpuri Superspecialty Hospital. This was decided in a high level meeting chaired by Dr. Walia and attended by the Additional Secretary (Health), DHS and other senior officers of the Health Department and PWD.

Dr. Walia stated that the government would bear the expenses of dialysis in respect of BPL patients and other poor patients having family annual income up to Rs.3 lakh. The other patients would be charged only Rs.1073/- for the dialysis process which takes 2-3 hours. There would be no need of patients to be admitted in hospital in this purpose as the government would be using most modern machines and deploy well-trained personnel.

Dr. Walia stated that the expenses of dialysis of poor patients and patients with family income up to Rs. 3 lakh annually would be met out of funds available with Dilli Arogya Kosh. The funds of Delhi Kalyan Samiti are also presently being utilized in respect of poor patients being referred by the city government to 10 designated Centres in private hospitals. It has been observed that cases are being daily referred for this purpose. He expressed confidence that the government would be able to increase number of its dialysis machines very soon and the launch on 19th August would go a long way in the treatment of kidney related diseases.

Dikshit requested all MPs from Delhi including Sh Agarwal to help in eatly commissioning of the Western perpherral express way as it would decongest Delhi roads apart from overcoming pollution. She added that the Capital city has been witnessing the biggest ever infrastructural development by Public Works Department and other agencies. All the flyovers will have two carriageways over single piers. At ground level, also capacity of road for different mode of transport is being augmented. By providing 3-lane carriageways on both sides, service road for local traffic, 2.5 wide footpath, 2 meter wide cycle path.

The number of loops on both sides of flyovers are also being provided apart from construction of two bridges across supplementary drain. Smt. Dikshit stated that the signal-free outer Ring Road from Vikaspuri to Wazirabd to connect Signature Bridge would provide hassle-free and fast connection up to NOIDA. This will benefit lakhs of commuters and vehicles from number of colonies and villages along outer Ring Road and from Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh and J&K.

Capital to get another multi speciality hospital: Dr. Walia

New Delhi: in a bid to improve the health related issues in Capital, Delhi government is all set to launch another Multi Speciality hospital in Delhi. Health Minister Dr. A.K. Walia informed that the Delhi Government has engaged National Building Construction Corporation Ltd. (NBCC), a Govt. of India Enterprise, for construction of 200-bedded multi-speciality hospital at Ambedkar Nagar (Dakshinpuri) in South Delhi. A Memorandum of Agreement was signed today between the Govt. of Delhi and NBCC to this effect.

The Hospital will be a multi-speciality hospital having services such as OPD, IPD, OT, Emergency, Laboratory etc. and departments such as internal medicine, general surgery, obstetrics & gynaecology, paediatrics, orthopaedics etc., Dr. Walia said. He added that the Hospital will further have 50% dedicated beds for catering to mother & child health care services.

Health Minister further informed that the Hospital will be constructed at a cost of Rs.128 crores and will be funded by Delhi State Health Mission (DSHM) through Govt. of India. The construction of the hospital will be completed within a period of 24 months.

A Congress Party spokesperson went to the extraordinary extent of rationalizing the formation and existence of the “Indian Mujahideen” The Indian Mujahideen is admittedly a terrorist organization. It is designated as a terrorist organization under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act in India. Its’ ban has been continued by the UPA Government. It has been included in the list of Foreign Terrorist Organizations by the US State Department. It is proscribed in the United Kingdom. Serious political observers are at a loss to understand why the Official spokesperson of the Congress Party could have rationalized the formation of Indian Mujahideen in India i.e. as an organization formed as a reaction against the riots in Gujarat in 2002.

The UPA is in the tenth year of its existence. As the General Elections approach the UPA is confronted with a huge anti-incumbancy. There is a visible leadership failure. Its’ leadership is seen to be ineffective. Its’ governance is highly inadequate. The government has run out of ideas on how to bring the economy back on rail. The UPA has added corruption as a new Directive principle of state policy. The ten year misrule of the UPA reflects on how ‘The Indian story’ was effectively destroyed. After UPA’s miserable track record of governance the need for an effective and clean government are the key agendas for the forthcoming General Elections.

The conventional Congress strategy has been that whenever they fail at governance then they go back to the last resort i.e. the alleged charisma of the Congress Party’s first family. Unfortunately that charisma appears to be inadequate. The outgoing leadership of the UPA is perceived to be ineffective ; the incoming are perceived to be non-leaders.

Faced with both the crisis of governance and a lack of leadership, the UPA ‘s desperate strategy appears to be to deflect the agenda. Under no circumstances must the destruction of ‘The India’s story’ by the UPA be allowed to occupy the centre stage of the electoral agenda. The UPA has therefore only one option left. Communalize the polity in the country and change the electoral agenda. All those who want to throw the UPA out of office must understand that their focus must remain on the issues of governance which the UPA will try to duck.

The last few weeks have witnessed a crude attempt by the UPA leaders at this strategy. There are three visible indicators of this. Firstly, the UPA has concentrated its’ attack on Narender Modi. In Gujarat the initial strategy of the Congress was to excessively attack Modi. Modi always excelled in this political battle with Congress. He got the better of them. Finding this strategy counter-productive the Congress would then go back to the alternate strategy of pretending that Modi did not exist as far as their campaign was concerned. At the Centre the Congress strategy in the first phase comprised excessively attacking Modi. In the process they are conceding the centrestage to them. Soon they will realize the counter productivity of their strategy and move back to the alternative practice of pretending to ignore Modi.

Secondly, the Union Government’s strategy through the CBI in the Ishrat Jehan’s case has puzzled many. The CBI strategy has been to play down and eventually ignore the LeT connection and uncover the entire security apparatus of this country. Why did the first charge sheet remained silent on the LeT connection of the alleged victims? Did the Intelligence Bureau pick up details about this module from its sources in Kashmir ? Was the security apparatus of India and our Intelligence agencies not entitled to intercept communications of LeT, keep surveillance on them and eventually interrogate them? Were all these steps intended to check terrorism or were they steps in conspiracy to commit a crime? The answer to this question would lie on whether the alleged victims had a LeT connection or not. The CBI as the investigative arm of the government chooses to maintain silence on the LeT connection. Who deleted para 168 in the NIA interrogation of David Hadley where this module was mentioned on the LeT module? Did the CBI go the extent of even discrediting the voice of recordings of the LeT operatives and their Indian connection? Has the CBI struck a deal with some policemen who allegedly indulged in the encounter and changed their character from an accused to a witness so that they could discredit the Intelligence and Security set up of the country? Without going into the veracity of the encounter or otherwise I raise the above questions since they indicate that a conscious effort is being made to project the LeT module as a martyr and India’s security and Intelligence set up as the villain. Is this a conscious pact of a strategy to perpetuate vote bank at the cost of national security?

Thirdly, it is in this context that Shakeel Ahmed’s statement on the Indian Mujahideen must be analysed. After 9/11 there was a huge global focus on various terrorist groups . Pakistan was being accused of perpetuating cross-border terrorism in India. 9/11 had brought a major pressure on Pakistan to distance itself and its’ soil from terrorist activities. The SIMI was banned by the NDA government. It was in this context that the Indian Mujahideen was formed. Pakistan wanted to create an organization which appeared to be Indian and have a lot of Indian operatives. The bomb-making techniques and the financing came from across the border. Its’ Indian credentials gave to Pakistan a scope for deniability every time a terrorist attack took place. Since its formation the Indian Mujahideen has been responsible for a large number of attacks in India. The Congress Party’s spokesman has sought to re-write history. His effort is to somehow paint the Indian Mujahideen as an organization of the aggrieved who are victims of riots in Gujarat. He ignores the international context and Pakistan’s strategy behind the creation of Indian Mujahideen. This is yet another desperate attempt to communalise an issue of National Security.

India all set to achieve 80 per cent literacy rate by 2015: Dr. Pallam Raju

New Delhi: India is all set to achieve the Eighty percent literacy rate by 2015 and it will be a milestone for the India education and literacy mission. HRD Minister Dr. M.M.Pallam Raju said the fact while inaugurating an International Conference on Achieving Literacy for All. The literacy rate of India is 73 per cent at present as per the 2011 Census. He said that more than 20 crore people have become literates since the last Census of 2001 out of which more than half of them are females.

To achieve the goal of 80 per cent literacy by 2015, the HRM said that the HRD Ministry is restructuring the entire adult education system in the country with a paradigm shift to lifelong education. He announced that an appropriate administrative and if required legislative process will be initiated to integrate formal, non-formal and informal learning and to formally recognize forms of education other than formal. He clarified that recognition, validation and accreditation of learning obtained through adult education will be formalized by setting up equivalency framework.

Stressing on the fact that the Government is keen to continuously improve the quality of adult learning, the HRD Minister added that a Core Curriculum Framework for adult education has been developed and is currently undergoing consultative process. The Framework will address total quality management in adult literacy. Full support will be given to adult education by providing adequate resources including funding, research complemented by knowledge management systems and through other innovative means including use of computer ICT as a medium of instruction, he added.

Speaking on the occasion, the UN Resident Coordinator Ms. Lise Grande complimented India for fighting illiteracy and making achievements in the field of education sector. However, she said that India should continue with its struggle against illiteracy. More than seventy crore people globally do not know reading, writing and arithmetic and most of them are in India, China, Pakistan and Bangladesh/

The three- day International Conference will focus on effective, innovative approaches to scale up literacy, reduce gender disparities and create a literate world. The Conference has been organized by National Literacy Mission Authority (NLMA), India along with UNESCO and UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning (UIL).

An additional amount of Rs.25,000 towards Children’s Education Allowance per child subject to a maximum of Rs.50,000 (Two children). In case of an accident requiring treatment for injury/fracture a maximum sum of Rs.10000. This was the special screening, especially organised for some close friends and Kiran Bedi as the film is based on prisoners. In interview when someone asked the director, Dinesh P. Tech Mahindra joins hands with EDMC for Teacher Education Institute

New Delhi:East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) and Tech Mahindra Foundation (TMF) jointly inaugurated the In-Service Teacher Education Institute (ITEI) at the EDMC Primary School, A Block, Dilshad Garden in New Delhi. The partnership project was flagged off by Ram Narayan Dubey (Mayor, East Delhi) in presence of Harsh Malhotra (Chairman, Education Committee), PreetiBehan (Municipal Councillor) and VariamKaur (Leader of Opposition). Loveleen Kacker (Chief Executive Officer, TMF) facilitated the launch with the Foundation team.

The official inauguration of the project was followed by a workshop on ‘Developing proficiency in teaching English’, which was attended by 28 primary school from East Delhi’s Shahdara region. The 3-day workshop will address important aspects of transacting English language to children in primary schools, most of who are first generation learners and come with diverse linguistic, cultural and social backgrounds. EDMC has 113 English medium schools, which face the challenge of delivering good quality language learning to the students.

Malhotra said “We are extremely glad to have Tech Mahindra Foundation come forward to shoulder responsibility with us. Explaining the importance of English for a better future, Kacker said, “The widespread reach and scale of the government combined with sophisticated technology, high quality research and pedagogical inputs of the Foundation will lead to the establishment of a state of the art teacher education institute, which will empower the teachers to reach out to the most underprivileged children, many of who attend EDMC-run primary schools.”

The ITEI is one of the two long term projects that EDMC and TMF are running jointly in the school. Under the second project, All Round Improvement in School Education (ARISE), TMF has adopted the school for five years for an overall turnaround including the important aspects of enhancing school environment, improving school management, conducting teacher training and working on pedagogy to improve learning levels of children. TMF is running 8 projects under ARISE in New Delhi and Mumbai.

New Delhi: North Delhi Municipal Corporation’s Standing Committee today unanimously passed a proposal to increase yearly encouragement amount to approximately 1.85 lakh girl students studying in about 765 primary schools of the Corporation from Rs. 200 to Rs 500 each student. For this purpose, a sum of Rs. 9 crore has been earmarked.

New Delhi: Taking a note to the Mid Day Meal tragedy in Bihar, SDMC has come in action and gave a message to the concerned authority that zero tolerance policy will be implemented here. In this regards, chairman Education Committee, South Delhi Municipal Corporation, Satish Upadhyay made visit with senior officials of Education Department to various pantries of NGOs who supply mid-day meal in SDMC schools.

Upadhyay also directs to collect the samples of mid-day meal from five schools of Central Zone and directed the officials, principal, incharge and related persons to check the food themselves first as per rules before distributing the same to children. In addition to this, Mr. Upadhyay laid emphasis upon tightening security to avoid outside interference by any persons.

Chairman, Education Committee, SDMC gave directions to officials with regard to disbtribution of mid-day meals and to avoid carelessness also take stern action against the defaulters. The full weekly details of mid-day meal should be displayed on notice board and these list/details should not confine to Zonal level but must be sent to HQ.

Upadhyay said that no compromise will be tolerated in the nutritional value of the food which results in bad impact on the children health. He instructed the Director (Education) Shri Sushil Singh that the sampling of mid-day meals should be checked at officer level weekly by notified labs only.

Dikshit stated that the biggest achievement of our government at Centre had been introduction of Right to Education. This has facilitated the city government to open more and more schools. Mere opening of schools and putting in place the modern infrastructure are not going to serve the purpose. Hence, the government is also concentrating on the efficiency, expertise and capabilities of the teachers. Smt. Dikshit cautioned people not to be carried away by the tall promises being made by certain political parties.

However his ‘puppy’ comment has create a controversy and many politicians have criticized him for the analogue. Even leaders have demanded an apology from Modi on the remarks adding that he had compared the minorities with the puppy.

However BJP spokespersons Sitharaman and Meenakshi Lekhi have said that leaders have misinterpreted the version of Modi and they have not heard the entire interview.

The Passing out Parade of 96th (Male) and 97th (Female) batches of Recruit Constables was held at Police Training College, Jharoda Kalan, New Delhi. Recruit constables took the oath in a colorful ceremonial parade after successfully completing their basic training. These constables joined their training in Oct. 2012..Najeeb Jung Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Delhi took the salute of the marching contingents. The parade was attended by Bhim Sain Bassi, Special Commissioner of Police/Admn, Delhi and other senior officers of Delhi Police.</div>

This batch of constables will augment large trained manpower available with Delhi Police, 2339 Constables including 37 Constables (Women) trainees have passed out after their basic training today. They were provided basic training at 2 centre’s i.e Police Training School, Jharoda Kalan and Wazirabad. Training such a large number of personnel was itself a great challenge, which was accomplished without compromising with the quality of training. In fact, training of highest order was provided to trainees by embarking on path of the best practices in training.</div>

Educational profile of these Constables is quite impressive as this batch has 2 M.Sc., 27 M.A., 10 M.Com, 1 MBA, 7 B. Tech, 21 B.Ed., 35 B.Sc., 20 B.Com., 32 BCA, 22 BBA, 791 B.A., 1372 10+2 Pass.</div>

While geographical factor played a major role in the choices of bulk of inductees, the trainees do reflect the national character of the country. The state-wise break-up include 791 trainees from Haryana, 744 from Rajasthan, 550 from UP, 244 from Delhi, 4 from Uttrakhand, 2 each from Punjab and Kerala, 3 from Bihar, 1 from HP. </div>

He focused on keeping Delhi safe from terrorism ,as the foremost priority .He expressed his happiness that the constables had also passed the commando training, enabling them in counter terrorism techniques, etc.</div>

He also mentioned how the public, media and courts keep a constant watch to ensure no breaches. While reassuring them of the great job done by many, he also mentioned about some poor executions which have tarnished the Police image in the past and therefore firmly expressed his intolerance to such incidences. He advised the police to be sensitive to the security needs of women, the under privileged, the children and the public at large.</div>

The ARS program is open to individual entries and evaluate students from over 450 schools spread across 7 cities in India, and will finally handpick the country’s top 11 under-16 footballers who will get the chance-of-a-lifetime to attend a week-long training camp with Manchester United Soccer Schools and possibly kick-off a career in professional football.

ARS 2013 was flagged off earlier today at a press conference held in the presence of Manchester United football legend Gary Pallister and Mohit Beotra (Chief Brand Officer – Bharti Airtel, India). The 3-months’ long Inter-Schools Tournament-cum-talent hunt will be conducted in seven cities (Mumbai, Delhi, Goa, Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Guwahati) with the support of the respective State and District Football Associations.
